There is a new application in Android Market that gives you the advantage to travel and discover the world without your having to leave the comfort of your seat. The Wikihood app for Android is a combination of the knowledge of wikipedia and the directions of google Maps to make your virtual travels. This application will give you relevant information based on the map or the location you are searching for. This application organizes information from Wikipedia and from the every parts of the world.
The Wikihood application is so easy in use. You have to specify the location of interest or navigate manually on the map to view the articles about places, events, people and photos around the world. There are buttons that will help you navigate through the application, you have to press the placemarker icon and it will display the map showing the locations of the search result with short description of the selected location. If this description is not sufficient then you can click the placemaker again then the application will redirect you to a list of relevant articles.
After hitting the magnifying glass icon, it will automatically search the location that you looking for. This will show you a list of search results based on the distance. By going to Menu, you can short and organize things. After selecting a search result from the list will take you to another page, where you can get more information about selected topic. The all information is categorized into four categories, people, Culture, Economy and Geography. You can share its contents by pressing the share button on the page.
